Smith & Mills
Smith & Mills is an old-fashioned club that meets high-class cocktails in Tribeca. When you visit Smith & Mills in New York City you will find it marked only by a bare light bulb and its street address painted in red.
Although the outside is nondescript and may be hard to find while driving by with your NYC sports car rental or convertible rental, once inside you will find tufted banquettes around the perimeter of the 450-square-foot space. There are industrial elements such as framed blueprints, metal chairs, and utilitarian bar stools that make the contrast with the well-dressed clientele more obvious.
The drink menu at Smith & Mills has all the classics for you to enjoy but there are also some surprises. Recommended is the elderflower cocktail, which is made with St. Germain liqueur, champagne, and soda. And when you have had a couple drinks and need to go to the bathroom, you will find one of the most interesting things in the bar. The bathroom was built in a former elevator shaft complete with wrought-iron work, an antique sliding door, and old train car sink.
Smith & Mills is located at 71 North Morre Street in Tribeca, near Greenwich Street. It is open daily from 9 a.m. until 4 a.m.. Here you can find anything from coffee and muesli in the morning to high-class cocktails and oysters or caviar in the evening. Dress code is casual to dressy. Make sure you bring cash though, because credit cards are not accepted.
The Randolph at Broom is located at 349 Broom Street between Elizabeth Street and Bowery. It is dark and somewhat secluded, but when you see the velvet ropes and large mahogany doors you have found it. Head to the basement for a more intimate experience with your group. On Tuesday night there is a Funk Dance Party and Thursday is 80s party. Sunday is the real crowd pleaser – the theme is Tribute to Prince, which draws a downtown-chic crowd.
Another popular nightclub in the area is Tailor Nightclub. This is also a restaurant, so you may want to try some of the food and drinks here before making your way to another bar. Tailor is one of the hottest nightclubs that you can visit - so why not drive up in something fun, like a luxury SUV rental? It is located at 525 Broome Street between Thompson Street and Sullivan Street. Some of the unique drink combinations here include the Waylon, which adds smoked Coke to bourbon or the Crumble, which is brown butter run, pink clove, and scrumpy (a type of cider).
