The New York Hall of Science
Think you’ve got what it takes to tackle the New York Hall of Science? Well, now’s your chance to prove it! The New York Hall of Science is one of the Big Apple’s best interactive science and technology centers in the country, providing visitors with more than 400 hands-on exhibits. Designed to engage visitors of all ages, the New York Hall of Science makes learning fun for everyone. Whether you’re interested in the solar system, cyberspace or the human body, the Hall of Science in New York has an exhibit that’s sure to entertain you. The New York Hall of Science opened in 1964 as a place to improve public understanding of science and technology. Since then, the Hall has grown to include some 400 interactive exhibits, the most of any museum in the city. These exhibits are designed to engage scientists of all ages, so don’t be afraid to stop in during your family vacation. Exhibits worth exploring at the New York Hall of Science include Rocket Park, The Search for Life Beyond Earth, and Marvellous Molecules. And who could forget about the little ones? The Hall of Science in NY features a fantastic Preschool Place learning center that’s open during museum hours.
If you’re feeling a little famished during your visit to the New York Hall of Science, there are plenty of tasty snacks and meals. When your tummy starts to grumble, simply head to the Hall’s Cafe and enjoy kid-friendly sandwiches, desserts, beverages and fruit. The Cafe is open from 10am to 1pm on weekdays and from 10am to 5pm on weekends. (Hours are extended during the summer).
Is someone in your crew celebrating a birthday? Celebrate in style at the New York Hall of Science! The New York Hall of Science proudly offers a number of exciting party packages specially designed to engage children over the age of 3. All party packages at the museum include an exhibit tour as well as interactive activities and demonstrations. Featured party packages include Extreme Science for children 6 and older, Fluttering Butterflies for children 3 through 5 and Gross Out Science for children 8 and older. When you arrive at the New York Hall of Science in your car rental, 12 passenger van rental or cheap SUV rental, you should have no problem finding the New York Hall of Science. It is conveniently located at 47-01 111th Street in Queens. To get there, simply take the Midtown Tunnel from Manhattan. Follow the Long Island Expressway eastbound, keeping to the right-hand lanes. Make sure to exit at 108th Street, turn left onto 108th and then turn right onto 52nd Avenue. Hang a left onto 111th Street and then right onto 49th Avenue. You will find the entrance drive to the Hall of Science on 49th Avenue.
Admission to the New York Hall of Science is $11 for adults and $8 for children 2 to 17. Seniors are just $8. Free admission is offered September through June on Fridays from 2 to 5pm and Sundays from 10 to 11am. Hours change throughout the year. Contact the Hall at 718-699-0005 for more details.
