About the Radio City Music Hall

Known as the “Showplace of the Nation”, the Radio City Music Hall was designed by Donald Deskey. Instead of utilizing the popular Rococo architecture style of the period, Deskey incorporated glass, aluminum, chrome and geometric ornamentation into his masterpiece, opting for a more contemporary Art Deco design. With more than 5,900 spectator seats, the Radio City Music Hall became the world’s largest indoor theater in 1932. The Great Stage, which measures some 66.5 feet deep and 144 feet wide, featured some of the era’s most advanced technology. In fact, the elevator systems used to maneuver props were so advanced, the US Navy insisted on duplicated the hydraulics when building World War II aircraft carriers! The Radio City Music Hall has long been a part of the Midtown Manhattan Rockefeller Center complex. Prestige Car Rentals in Manhattan encourages you to drive by this national icon during your upcoming trip and highly recommends taking in a show.
