The name tells it all
Gracie Mansion was built all the way back in 1799 and is located in Carl Shurtz Park. The mansion has a wonderful view overlooking Hell Gate. The reason it is called Gracie Mansion is because the architect of the building was named Archibald Gracie. Gracie did such an amazing job on the place that it was only fitting it be named after him. The style of architecture he used is a federal style and it is truly worth a look. Grab the family and climb into your minivan rentalor large SUV rental from Prestige Car Rental to check out the mayor's incredible house. You won’t be disappointed when you visit Gracie Mansion!
The Wagner Wing of Gracie Mansion
After Gracie Mansion was built in 1799, a new west wing called the Wagner Wing was added many years later. In 1966, the Wagner Wing was introduced under the direction of first lady Susan Wagner. A few years after this new production, the building was again restored. This time it was taken over by the Gracie Mansion Conservancy in 1981-1984 and then again in 2002. Gracie Mansion only has two stories, but it is large enough for the people living in it. Make it a point to visit Gracie Mansion or to drive by it in your luxury car rental or other vehicle rental so you can see this beautiful historic site.
