Go to Hell and Back

When you visit Death & Co. with your NYC car rental from Prestige Car Rental, the first thing you will notice is the imposing entrance. The bar’s trademark is the ominous, scorched wood doors on the outside. Once you walk inside, you will see the kerosene lamps and crystal chandeliers that shine on the gold-flecked walls that create shadows on the ceiling, which also has a scorched look. The whole place look ominous. The sound of jazz and martini shakers will greet you as you walk in. One thing you will notice is the attention to detail in this bar.

Fight for a Cause

You may learn when you visit is that the name Death & Co. comes from a Prohibition-era art movement that produced some seemingly anti-alcohol propaganda, but they were really maps to local speakeasies that were encrypted. Today you do not have to solve the puzzle to find the bar, but this interesting piece of history makes the bar that much more interesting.

Spitzer’s Corner at 101 Rivington Street is the place to visit if you want an incredible selection of beers and a relaxing place to hang out at a popular NYC bar after leaving Death & Co.. They have an astounding selection of draft beers as well as bottles to choose from; even beer aficionados will be surprised. Pints cost $6-$8 and bartenders will give you a sample if you are having a hard time deciding which is best for you. One thing to know before coming here, later in the night there is no table service, so you will have to get your own beers from the bartender.

Before coming to Death & Co. to enjoy your evening, why not start with a good dinner at another popular bar. Tailor is one of the hottest nightclubs that you can visit. It is located at 525 Broome Street between Thompson Street and Sullivan Street. Some of the combinations here include pork belly with miso butterscotch and foie gras infused with peanut butter. But they are really known for their drinks. Some of the unique combinations here include the Waylon, which adds smoked Coke to bourbon or the Crumble, which is brown butter run, pink clove, and scrumpy (a type of cider).

Have fun at all the bars, but make sure to get a designated driver to drive your convertible rental or luxury SUV rental home from the popular NYC bar
