The Children’s Museum of Manhattan features three levels of learning: early childhood, creativity in the arts and sciences, and healthy lifestyles. Programs and exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan also function in such a way as to address the multiple ways that children learn, helping parents understand and support early development.
You will find the following exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan:
- Playworks (suitable for children up to age 4): The Playworks exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan is an immersive environment designed to meet the robust exploratory needs of young children. Highlights of the exhibit include a talking baby dragon, a child-size New York City fire truck and a crawling challenge course.
- City Splash (suitable for all ages): This seasonal exhibits lets kids have fun with water outdoors. New York discount car rentals travelers can race boats down a 16-foot stream, learn the scientific properties of water and operate water wheels through kid-powered pumps. This exciting exhibit is open May through August.
- Dora the Explorer (suitable for children ages 2-6): If your child loves Dora’s television show, they’re sure to enjoy this exhibit. Highlights of the exhibit include sliding from Boots’ Treehouse, playing hide-and-seek in the rainforest and build a bridge across Crocodile Lake.
Important things to remember before visiting the Children’s Museum of Manhattan
1. An adult 18 or older must accompany all children.
2. Strollers must be left at the coat-check (to avoid the line, Prestige Car Rental recommends leaving your stroller in the car).
3. No food or beverages are allowed in the museum.
4. All large groups must have a reservation.
