Many of the On-Broadway productions take place at theaters in Times Square, or along Broadway between Sixth and Eighth Streets.   2. Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway – These two terms have become increasingly difficult to define. Off- and Off-Off-Broadway shows tend to showcase a more experimental and avant-garde feel, providing audiences with exciting new artistic interpretations. Many of these productions are based in the downtown area, although popular ones can often appear in Midtown and even on the Upper West Side.

Things to Know Before Booking your Theater Tickets

Showtimes – Broadway tends to stick to a very rigid showtime schedule; there are normally eight performances per week – evening shows will be available Tuesday through Saturday, while matinees are staged on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Evening performances begin at 8PM while matinees usually begin at 2PM on Wednesday and Saturday and at 3PM on Sunday.
